While Pocket VetGo is primarily a charge-capture/point-of-care billing system, it also offers a rich set of features previously found only in large practice management systems. This guide provides a general overview of the many features of Pocket VetGo.

• Charge Capture
At its core, Pocket VetGo is an electronic travel sheet that allows you to quickly and easily capture charges for all the services you perform as you perform them. But, unlike traditional paper-based travel sheets, with Pocket VetGo, you don’t have to go back to the office to transcribe your charges into your invoicing system. Instead, you generate invoice at the point of care and then print them on the spot or save them to be printed back at the office.

• Mobility
Since Pocket VetGo runs on a Pocket PC, it can easily be slipped into your pocket or clipped on to your belt and carried with you wherever you go. This means your critical client and patient data is always in your pocket. It also means you no longer need to go to your office computer to do useful work because, with Pocket VetGo, your computer is always with you.

• Point of Care Invoicing
With Pocket VetGo you can now generate professional looking invoices at the point of care. No more hassling with carbon copies and no more transcribing travel sheets back at the office. Instead, just print the invoice on the spot or save it to be printed or uploaded to your office computer system back at the office.

• Easy Printing in the Field
Pocket VetGo prints to most battery-powered or regular infrared, Wi-Fi, or BlueTooth enabled printer. This means you do not need to physically connect the Pocket PC to the printer. Instead. you just aim the Pocket PC at the printer, tap the on-screen print button, and beam your data to the printer. There’s no cable or power cords required.

• Consistent Charges
Pocket VetGo ensures that you and everyone in your practice charge consistently for the same service. When you set up Pocket VetGo, you enter your services and the charges for those services. Then, in the field, when you tap a service that appears on your service sheet, the charge you entered appears. Although authorized users can override this charge or add new charges as necessary, but having a charge ‘programmed into’ your service sheet ensures that everyone charges the same price for the same service.

• Easy Setup
Pocket VetGo comes with the Pocket VetGo Field Manager, which is an auxiliary program that allows you to easily set up your practice information. Since the Field Manager runs on the Pocket PC, you can set up your information anywhere – at home, at the office, and even while traveling. The Pocket VetGo Mobile Manager, which runs on a regular PC, can also be used to set up your practice data and offers the comfort, speed, and convenience of working on a desktop or laptop computer.

• Customizable Drug Formulary
Pocket VetGo allows you to create your own practice-specific drug formulary. Just enter the drug names, strengths, and dosages for various breeds to have this information constantly available. No more running to the drug references to look up dosages.

• Easy Medical Record Entry
Pocket VetGo allows you to enter notes into the patient’s history at the end of each invoicing session. The entry can be a general note or you can enter a separate note for each treatment administered during the session. Chart entries can be made using the on screen keypad, the built-in handwriting recognition system, or by recording and saving a voice note for later transcription.

• Quick Patient History Look Up
Pocket VetGo allows you to quickly retrieve patient histories, listing all prior treatment sessions so that you can see the date of last service, the doctor who last treated the animal, the problem, the diagnosis, and the chart-entry notes. Since medical histories are linked to invoices, you can quickly jump to the invoice for that session to look up further details such as any doctor instructions that were printed on the invoice.

• Automated Doctor Instructions
Pocket VetGo allows you to enter instructions to be printed on the invoice. These instructions can be entered when you first set up your services sheet or they can be entered at the end of the treatment session. Predefined instructions will be included automatically but can be edited prior to printing.

• Prescriptions and Dispense Labels
Pocket VetGo allows you to quickly and easily generate prescriptions and dispense labels in the field. prescriptions can be printed on regular paper or specially designed prescription paper. Dispense labels are printed on standard Avery-type labels that can be purchased at any office products store.

• Vaccination History/Reminders
Pocket VetGo allows you to quickly look up a patient’s vaccination history. It also automatically alerts you to any due or overdue vaccinations or other treatments required for the patient.

• Office Alerts
Pocket VetGo alerts you to important client information. If the client’s account, for example, is past due, your office can enter a note that will automatically appear the next time you bring up that client’s record.

• Inventory
Pocket VetGo provides an inventory treatment sheet that allows you to track inventory and dispense items directly from inventory. When setting up your regular treatment sheets you can also flag items to be tracked by inventory. Once dispensed, Pocket VetGo automatically notifies the Mobile Manager’s inventory tracking system to ensure your inventory is updated.

• Scheduling
Pocket VetGo allows you to schedule and track appointments directly on your Pocket PC. Once scheduled, you can list the appointment on the Pocket VetGo appointment list. You can also have the appointment appear on your Pocket Outlook calendar, where you can take advantage of the many features available in that application, such as reminders, alarms, appointment blocks, and so on.

• Callback/Follow Up Lists
Pocket VetGo allows you to enter call back or follow up notes to remind you to follow up on certain items. When you log on, Pocket VetGo automatically advises you if you have any due or overdue items that need to be followed up on.

• Walk-in Patients and Over-the-Counter Sales
Pocket VetGo allows you to easily handle walk-in patients that you will treat once and likely never see again. Instead of creating a client record and patient record, simply tap the walk-in button and start treating the animal. When finished, Pocket VetGo will ask you if you want to enter billing information to be printed on the invoice. Either enter the information or simply print a blank invoice or cash receipt. Use the same procedure for over-the-counter sales.

• Client Record Management
Pocket VetGo allows you to carry all of your client records with you at all times. This means you can look up and edit a client’s demographic information – name, address, phone number, and so on – anytime, anywhere. You can also look up and print a client’s account history.

• Patient Record Management
Pocket VetGo allows you to keep your patient information with you at all times. If you’re out to dinner, for example, and you get an emergency call, you can pull your Pocket VetGo out of your pocket, look up the patient’s medical history, and respond to the call on the spot. You don’t have to go back to your office to look up information because the information is always with you.

• Herd/Patient Management
Pocket VetGo allows you to enter groups of patients or entire herds as a single line item. Suppose a client has 400 head of cattle that you inoculate regularly. Simply create a patient group for the entire herd and enter the number of head in the herd.

• Immediate Startup
Pocket PCs are ‘always on.’ This means that they never turn off. When you press the power off button, the Pocket PC doesn’t really turn off. Instead, it goes into deep hibernation. When you turn it back on, it starts up immediately. This means you can pick up where you left off. You don’t have to wait for Windows to load or for your application to load.

• Multi-User Support
Pocket VetGo allows you to share your Pocket PC among as many users as you like. When setting up Pocket VetGo, simply enter the names and passwords of the people who will be sharing your system. This allows you to use the same Pocket PC around the clock, for example, in emergency practices and allows you to pass your Pocket PC to a colleague who needs to cover for you while you are unavailable.

• Multiple Billing Location Support
Pocket VetGo allows you to set up multiple billing locations. If your practice has more than one office, for example, you can set up each office as a separate billing location. Then, when you log in, you can select the location in which you will be currently practicing. All invoices and other documents printed from that location will have that locations name, address, and phone number. If the locations have different sale tax structure, such as across state lines, all taxes calculated at that location will be based on the tax rates for that location.

• Rabies, Health, and Other Certificates and Forms
Pocket VetGo allows you to print Rabies Certificates, Health Certificate, and other forms such as an emergency release form, surgery release form, and so on.
